Each day the dancers will have warm up classes concentrating on technical aspects of dance and then these will be developed by the different masterclass tutors through creative, improvisational and choreographic challenges. As well as classical ballet the masterclasses will explore contemporary styles of dance through body contact, improvisation, contemporary jazz and hip hop. Timetable: The course will start at 2pm on Wed 29th July and end after the sharing on Sat 8th August. Daily classes will run from 9.30am to 5.15pm. End of Course Sharing: At the end of course there will be an informal sharing of work, at 11am on Saturday 8th August, at Harlaw Academy. This event is free and open to friends and family of participants, AIYF staff and guests. Festival Events: Dance Lab participants will have the opportunity to participate in a number of festival events and see different festival performances, including the Welcome Ceremony, Festival Parade, dance shows at Aberdeen Arts Centre, HMT and the Lemon Tree. There will also be special entertainment nights at the festival accommodation, including cabarets by Festival participants, discos and concerts. (Attendance at these events will be in consultation with the dance tutors and Festival staff but is an important part of the AIYF Dance Lab experience.)
