All potential students will attend a taster session so that their suitability for classical ballet training can be assessed. Students will need a love of dance. Flexibility, musicality and intelligence are also important. Classes are offered at pre-primary, primary, Grades 1-8 and intermediate - Advanced 2 RAD set syllabus levels following the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus. The Royal Academy of Dance syllabus and examinations are internationally recognised, and accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) and The Council for Dance Education and Training (CDET). The RAD offers two syllabi: The graded syllabus provides the groundwork for the vocational syllabus and is also suitable for boys and girls pursuing dance as a hobby. Examinations are not compulsory and a student may move up to the next level without taking an exam if they wish. The vocational syllabus has been designed to give the necessary training to those boys and girls who wish to study seriously with a possible view to following a career in dance. Each class begins with that all-important warm up while introducing a wide variety of dance moves. This is followed by a choreographed dance aerobic workout. Our energizing routines burn calories and give beautiful definition to arms, thighs, glutes and abs. This is followed with muscular strength and endurance mat work using bands.
