Adult Flamenco classes are for beginners and those with some experience. This is a highly complex and fascinating dance form incorporating an absorbing variety of styles and rhythms. We work on all aspects of the dance form including zapateado (footwork), palmas (hand clapping), arms, turns as well as choreography, improvisation and understanding the rhythm and structure of the different songs. Flamenco Dance classes for children are lively and fun. Students learn zapateado (footwork), palmas (clapping to rhythm), and jaleo (shouting encouragement) to a variety of different flamenco styles and rhythms. Group choreography is taught in addition to basic footwork, arm movements and castanets. Improvisation is encouraged and there is opportunity for performance for all who wish to take part.
